I absolutely LOVE this post. I came across this as I was doing research about natural hair bloggers for marketing purposes...so glad I found this. I am known on the web as a model but my natural red hair definitely gets all of the attention. What those who know me personally know is that I am a Holistic Health & Beauty Consultant specializing in natural hair. I've been in love with hair care all of my life and began my career in 1993 as a braider. As for my natural hair journey I went natural in 2003. My research was extensive but it was more on the holistic health side of hair. The things that I see now days in these videos and the information more often that not is really obsessive. I specialize in natural hair and I don't even do half of the things to my hair that the "experts" do. The proof is in the pudding though: I have a really thick and full mane of healthy hair. All that I can say is, don't get caught up in the hype. We are all unique and have different lifestyle and live in different environments. All of this plays into the hair factor. Try products that speak to your spirit. If they work, keep them and use them as part of your regimen. As for brands, I try to keep 3-4 brands in rotation. Lighter products are good for spring/summer months and heavier products are good for fall/winter and this also depends on the climate you live in... I'm thinking about starting a blog so that I can address stuff like this. I hate to see people misled. Especially when it comes to hair. Wow! I absolutely LOVE this post.
